My Giant Defy 4 in pretty well original configuration Summer 2009 - 8 Speed Shimano 2200 equipment

It has had quite a few upgrades since these photos - a bit like Triggers Broom now. A quick list of the changes:
Front chainset (FSA), front dérailleur (105 5600), rear dérailleur (105 5600 mid cage), wheels (Cole Rollen), tyres, cassette (10spd 105 - 12-27), 5600 shifters (10spd) and a shorter stem. It's shaved about 1.5kg of the total weight bringing it to a bit over 10kg - not a lot left to take off now for any sensible cost).

Most of the weight savings came from the wheels and tyres, the originals being some basic Giant own brand wheels - however they're very strong with a high spoke count so ideal for commuting on - although they are now relegated to winter duty, along with the Continental Gatorskin tyres. The rims are starting to suffer now though with 2 winters of grit. I certainly won't run the Cole Rollens through the winter either for this reason alone.

Here's a couple of pictures of the Focus on it's current state of build (May 2012). Changes from the original are:
Shimano RS80 wheels + Continental GP4000S tyres
Shimano 105 Rear Dérailleur (short cage)
Shimano 105 11-28 Cassette (replaces 12-27)
Shimano 105 5700 Shifters (all cables under bar tape), so it includes new white bar tape, the first time I have done this for ~30 years

Here's me after having "won" the inaugural Pedal for Parkinsons Sportive in Stratford on Avon in June 2011.
My dad has Parkinsons so I did it for him.

Here are some pictures from the 2012 Pedal for Parkinsons Sportive in Stratford on Avon in June 2012.

The "winners" of both routes!

Here area couple of photos from the The Rawlinson Bracket on 24 Feb 2013. It was bitterly cold! This is me at the top of Edge Hill:

And here are Noel and I getting back to the Heritage Motor Centre:

My son rode in an open race run by Solihull CC on 20 April 2013 at the Tudor Grange Track:
